valve clearances

I need to adjust the valve clearances as it's getting a bit noisey now. the cars a 91 twin spark.

Can anyone please tell me the specified measurerments for the inlet and exhaust cams.

Inlet 0.38mm to 0.45mm(0.015-0.018ins)
Exhaust 0.43mm to 0.5mm(0.017-0.02ins)
Its a fairly involved job as the adjusting shim is located between the valve stem and the bucket tappet.
Check the clearances before you even think about startng, they don't often need adjustment!

Thanks for the info. i cant really see it not being that perhaps i try and get a sound bite recorded as it's worse than any other car i've ever had.

Does it sound like a diesel?
Could be the variator .
