Hooray! Got my 164 back from Rusper Alfa today after almost a month away. Poor Mike down there must have thought that it had taken up squatters rights! (Delay caused by an elusive engine management fault light that appeared - suggestion that a new ECU was required, although driving the nuts off the car on the way back seems to have cured it!)
Anyway, having had my new H+R springs, Koni shocks and Cloverleaf intake runners fitted, all I can say was that it was worth the wait!
Car looks the dogs danglies now, with that horrible "arse-up" stance gone; losing all that fresh air between the arch and the tyre really makes all the difference.
I expected the ride to be harder but have been pleasantly surprised - the ride is firm (on 215/45 17 rubber) but not harsh - in fact, it rides better than on the original. I haven't been able to exploit the handling yet, but initial impressions are little body roll and a much greater feeling of security - the car feels like its glued to the road. Steering is also lighter, but this probably due to everything being set up as it should now.
The intake runners make a difference at the top-end, car feels more eager to rev now (I can see that I'll become a valued customer at my local garage!), but now I've started to be greedy and want more power - I can feel a Squadra/Superchip coming on...just don't tell the missus! (Hmm.. but then I'll need a performance air filter and... no, stop it now!)
Gonna play with the damper settings (dunno what they're set to at the mo) and then give the car a good wash and polish. Will try to post some "before" and "after" pics soon.
