Head rests and light fittings
I recently bought a leather interior to upgrade my Twinspark 164. ( Mmm... smell the cows! ) But have one problem in that I can't get the rear headrests to lock. They look the same as the old velour ones, with a slot on the bottom, yet they just turn and turn without locking themselves. Am I missing something? What position should the slots be facing on entry? How much of a turn do they need to lock? Quarter? Half? Which way? It isn't really a problem as they still hold the back squab in place, it is just that I know that the job isn't finished. And it will eat away at me.....
Secondly, I need to take the rear interior light units out to change a bulb from the back. The manual states that it just pops out, yet I envisage it rather snapping out into many parts if I continue applying that level of force.... When they say "Pressure fitted" they mean it! Anyone done this before? Does the screwdriver need to go in next to the eyeball light and then lever it out? I am proficient in breaking Alfa trim - lots of experience with my old GTV. But I want to turn over a new leaf now.
Thanks in advance for any useful feedback.
