Wave 166 / 159

I tried the 159 1.9jts yesterday. Generally a fine car but the old TS engine seems just as capable and makes a much more appealing sound. Aceeleration felt comparable, but I missed the feel of the TS, or vibration and noise to put it another way. I wanted to see what I was missing, and I was happy to sit back into the old shark afterwards looking forward to another few years.

Interior is OK but prefer the 166.

I must try the 2.2 when they get one in for test drives.

Two big improvements in the 159; my size 11 actually fits into the space where the clutch pedal hangs, and the turning circle will allow you to do a U turn to the other side of a dual carriageway!!

Well Happy Re: 166 / 159

Hi drove myself a 2.2 JTS a cpl of weeks ago
and it drives fine indeed but,
I miss the ALFA feeling in it and its smaller in legroom
for the backpassengers .
While its very nice to look at I still prefer my 166
that has never let me down and i still appealing (at least i think so)

Don't forget the 159 1.9 JTS is heavier then the (larger) 166 2.0 TS!

Had a brief nosey while at the stealers for a part.
Looks OK, they should have kept the 166 rear end, lost the plot a little there. The bonnet lines are too severe from side- looks like a Volvo
The wheels are awful - way too fussy and a nightmare to clean
