Firstly i just want to say a quick thanks to everyone for the warm welcome i received, after joining.
I'm had the 166 for a couple of weeks and just thought I should post my first impressions, as its the first (but not the last) Alfa I've owned.
WOW!!!! She looks fantastic in Dark Grey/Green (depending in the light), I've not had the opportunity to clean it properly yet, but will post pictures when i do. It looks fantastic at any angle, especially the side profile, I've seen other Alfa owners looking as they pass.
Apart from the lack of cup holders (I do a lot of miles) a very nice place to be. I've covered just over 2100 miles so far and am very impressed with the interior. Everything is just where you would like it, and the design is fantastic, with its sculptured leather on the dash & doors.
FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What an engine, she sounds amazing over 5000 RPM (however not too good for the consumption)
I've covered a lot of miles from the North East down to London, and have averaged 29.4mpg. This has been a mix of 70% motorway & 30% town driving. It's very easy to drive, and very very easy to drive fast.
1 I've got a loose wire on a side light
2 Squealing Brakes, on slow braking (5-10 mph)
3 Brake Judder at high speads (80-90 mph)
I've been looking for a Haynes/Workshop manual and was wondering if anyone can piont me in the right direction.
Any help on the problems would be appreciated.
