Still got 166 questions
I am still pondering over 166s. I've been keeping an eye open for a 2 litre, but there aren't many about. However there are lots of 2.5s about.
My reason for wanting a 2 litre is a simple matter of petrol costs, but this week has got me wondering...
.... I've been pootling about in a 406 v6. I've found that because of the torque I end up driving everywhere at least a gear higher than I ever would in the 145 - and the engine hardly gets worked at all unless I am really in the mood to boot it. As a result it's not been thirsty at all.
What I want to know is do you guys find the same thing in 166 v6s? Do you end up hardly stressing the engine and so getting decent mpg? Or do you soon get used to the power being there and boot it everywhere?
In the meantime the 145 is sat all nice and shiny on the drive. If you know anyone that wants a 98s 145 1.6 Junior with FSH and only ever owned by Alfa, my dad and then me point them this way!
