Re: 166 calipers on 164
I am at present in the process of fitting a set of GTA caliper (4 pot brembos) to my cloverleaf 164.
I looked at 166 calipers but they are very BIG!!
I am running 18" wheels and it looks like i will have to set the disc back as far as i can but will still end up with a 8-10mm spacer!
The mounting lugs are also grief. I have come to the conclusion that i need 330mm disc to get the caliper high enough to get the clearance.
The 166 calipers are even bigger than the GTA ones so i dread to think what clearance probelms may occur. Also remember the 166 has a PCD of 5x108 instead of 5x98 of the 164, so the disc are not much use.
Once i have finalised fitting the GTA calipers i will post the results, maybe a while as i am custom making the ali bells through a friend and don't have a bottomless pit of money!!!!!
Out of interest do you find the 164 brakes to be total s@&$?
Hope this helps.
