Re: Rear Brakes 166
Niall, pretty straight forward really. Wheels off, brakes off, front wheels chocked. Undo retaining bolt on disc to hub, remove slidingbolt caliper half from fixed caliper - 13mm end bolt and 15mm open ended spanner "nut". Hang caliper up (remove rubber grommet/pipe combo fom strut).
Unbolt fixed caliper 15mm bolts x2. Check grease/condition of sliding calper. Slowly spin disc while tapping from behind with wooden mallet - took quite a series of whacks to release off hub.
Wind back piston on each caliper. It requires a turn and push simultaneous, watch for overflow on brake fluid. Like I said my angle grinder wrench fitted perfectly and a hub puller I have has a handy metal block with threaded bolt thru which is just right size!
Clean up hub face seat new disc, retaining bolts back on. Caliper bolts can be a bugger to get back in sometimes., New pads in, rest of caliper back on. Wheels on, check brake fluid. Pump brakes to setlle and then tweak hand brake adjuster - slim 10mm on long extension or screwdriver end.
