Right, got me a shiny new GM5100T Pioneer amp for my TSpark and intending to install it over the weekend. A couple of questions:
1. Do the plastic covers on the sills come up quite easily or am I going to end up snapping loads of plastic tabs off? If so, is there any way under the carpet that might be easier to shove the wires through?
2. How far into the back seats can I make holes? Is it a fairly substantial bit of chipboard or something rather more flimsy?
Also, is my alternator on the way out and will a 125W x 2 amp put too much strain on it? At the moment, when I put on my rear windscreen heater the headlights dim and the voltage drops to 12 when I'm idling, but comes up to 16 again when I'm over 1k revs. I only ask because I don't think it used to do this and it seems to be getting slightly worse since I first noticed it about a year ago, although this could be my imagination as, if it is getting worse it's happening very slowly.
Actually, thinking about it another question comes to mind — should I put some dynamat under the speakers where they are bolted to the back shelf? It would have to be only at the points where they touch IYSWIM as I want to be able to keep the covers on. I would think it would be quite difficult to cut out a bit so small, but I don't want them to be vibrating like mad as they're currently bolted onto a thin plastic covering over the metal parcel shelf.
Ex 95 164 TS Super, 95 164 QV, 97 164 V6 Super – all very much missed.
