Apparently the fault is the fan motor. The air con system still has a pressure, but whenever the interior fan is attached to the wiring loom it blows the fuses. So waiting on the part now, along with the 5 hours labour!! to fit it. Stealers is the right name!!!!
They also came back with a tale of woe regarding the suspension and the debt of a small central american company to replace the following
Both upper & Lower wishbones on the front, both sides(worn bushes and lift in lower front arm ball joint £857.25
Rear trailing arms, both sides(worn bushes) £552.25
Rear hubs & bearings, both sides(worn to excess) £987.00
Which is roughly the value of the car
Have been able to find alternative sources for the arms/wishbones and save £250 on the parts, although I havent found anywhere else to get the wheel hubs and bearings(quoted £186 for the hub and £94.22 for the bearing, plus vat) Has anybody else replaced the wheel hubs/bearings or found an alternative source for them? Car is coming up for its MOT in January and if its as bad as they state, then it will fail for the worn rear bushes/ball joint I believe if nothing else.
I'll try some of the local garages round here for there labour rates to see how much they would want to essentially replace the suspension, if I provide the parts.
