Re: 166 seen a car can you advise pls...
Concur with Niall on this one with regard to costs . If possible get leather, CD changer, and the V6 in black, with 17in wheels as this seems to be the most saleable. Green is a bad colour for resale you should be able to talk the dealer down (also hard to paint out scratches!). If practicality is of more concern than resale value, the 16in wheels ride better, and the cloth seats are very comfy and dont wear as badly as leather, the TS is also cheaper to insure and doesn't drink petrol like the V6.
The specialist servicing shouldn't be a problem - in fact its probably better than main dealer history to have this, that's what I'd look for anyway! The specialists listed should be known as Alfa specialists e.g. Alfaman, Alfarama, Desira etc etc - ring them and speak to them about the car to find out how well serviced the car is. Recommend that you scout around on Exchange and Mart and AutoTrader online before buying a 166, there are a lot of cheap good cars out there, so you shouldn't buy the first you see! Use HPI to run a check, its not that expensive and its saved my bottom on a number of occassions with clocked cars.
If you can live with the looks, you'll be able to get yourself a really nice 166: they do drive well, and I'd recommend them over a 156 if you want a bit of space and luggage capacity!
