Having got home from work this morning I noticed when moving the car that the passenger footwell was soaked with water, did have an awful lot of rain last night, and am unsure as to where it is coming from.
I looked under the bonnet and looked at what I believe upon reading other posts are the sunroof drainage points. The drivers side is nice and dry even though missing the black end piece, but the passenger side one the area it drains into is full of gunge and autumn leaves. The black end piece on this one is still present and was slowly dripping even though we have not had rain for say 6hrs or more. First question is the water that drips from these where is it supposed to go once out of the end of the pipe as it looks to just accumulate in a pool on the metalwork, hence the gungy leaves.
Upon opening the door I am sure that the circular rubber seal around the ventilation hole in the door was wet but will have to wait for more rain to confirm this. Could this be a source of the leak ie window to door seal?
Finally in the footwell on the outside frame is a black plastic box
with what looks like a engraved picture of a padlock on it, what is this as the carpet immediately below it and running into the footwell is the only bit of vertical carpet that is wet?
