Clutch problem on 164 2.0 TS -92

My clutch has been acting kind of strangely on two occacions. The first time was when i was driving out of a parking garage, I pressed the clutch, it released like it should, but the pedal stayed down when i removed my foot. It was not because of beeing stuck to the rubber mat or anything. When I used my foot and 'fetched' it up again, it worked as it should.
The next day, I should start the car in the morning. The car was in gear, I pressed the clutch started the car and it jumped. The clutch had not released. When i took my foot of the pedal, it stayed down again. Haven't used the car since, have to drive the Renault family car, and that doesn't feel good.

Has anybody here had some experiences like this?

(I'm from Norway, that's why the english is bad)

that sounds like a problem with either the master or slave cylinder.....

agreed, either way it is not a huge job for a competent mechanic and should not be hugely expensive.

HI MIKE, SORRY SVEINNY HAVE THIS VERY PROBLEM MYSELF ,EVERYTHING FINE UNTIL Idecided to expriment with bypassing the damper and I broke the pipe that initially screws into it ,I was going to put this pipe straight into the slave, anyway got a new pipe made up fitted it and had great difficulty bleeding or getting a pedal, pedal staying on the floor like yours.Got a mate to pump the pedal and holding pressure on the slave loossened the bleed nipple and got a small amount of air out tightened the bleed and pedal was fine.
Since that have lost fluid and took the car out not knowing - no clutch or very little found a leek off one of my new pipes so have tightened it and now have a pedal again - so monitoring.
Hope there is something there for you!
Cheers Pat
