Managed to change the oil on my sporttrnic today after several trips to Halfords to get 8 and 12 mm hex key and new car ramps (drove onto old ramps at slight angle, car dropped off to side and crushed one.....
Curiously both EPER manual and Halfords guide suggested 1.6 litres - it took 1.85 litres before the trickle at fill hole.
Haven't given it good italian "tune up" yet but change seemed smoother and quicker up and down my road.
Used Castrol part synth 75/90 gear oil as stated in EPER. Bit worried that its not a "normal" ATF like Dextron, which the newer 5 speed auto uses. All Dextron type fluids I have seen are red, presumably to identify. Mine wasn't red but definitely needed a change looking at colour. Can someone confirm this is correct fluid before I do too many miles!
I modified the screw cap of the oil bottle to accept some long plastic tubing and syphoned the oil in resting the bottle on top of engine. It was slow but steady and controlled. I got fed up of squeezing the bottle!!
