Ouch! Hard luck on that one, it does sound as if the plug was overtorqued into the soft aluminium head. I assume you've tried to put it back in only to discover the threads gone right? Tried with a diffrent plug? In any case it will need to be recoiled as you say so I can't add much to that but I am sure the front head can be removed without removing the engine. I recently saw a V6 166 with its front head removed at my local Alfa garage (never asked why at the time). Another reason why a plug could be forced out is if the piston strikes it. Can't think why your piston would want to do that considering these V6 blocks, pistons/liners are as strong as a brick ***** house. So much so they don't even wear out like a normal engine does. Having said that though a compression test should tell you if there is any further damage in that cylinder.
