Stanford Hall - Italian Concours Day

Hi 164/166 guys & girls.

I thought I'd let you know about this year's Auto Italia concours event at Stanford Hall.

We had a 'Super' day there (pardon the pun!); there was a good turn-out of all marques, especially AR, but 164s and 166s were a bit thin on the ground.

I was pleased that my efforts to polish up my silver 166 super V6 drew a large and very interested crowd. A lot of guys were running 155s/156s and 164s and were keen to find out more about this rare and beautiful car....

There were some decent trade stands and the overall atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. Car of the day for me had to be a twin engined 164, running two 3 litre V6 motors (a bit like that Golf V6 that they tested on Top Gear or whatever it was). Mad!

Unfortunately I'll have to miss the AROC day on 19 June, but this was a good substitute. I'll try to get some pics on the forum soon...

The next event I'll be attending is the 'See Red' festival at Donington Park. I went there last year with my 166 2.0TS and was quickly ushered onto the AROC stand (even though I wasn't a member!). Anyway, it's a brilliant day out as not only do you get to see some splendid cars on the stands, you also see some real action on the track. It's well worth the journey.

No doubt I'll put out another post near the time to get more 166s along!

All the best,

Re: Stanford Hall - Italian Concours Day

I took my 164 Cloverleaf 24v along and parked next to the main driveway in the Alfa area. I only saw one other 164 Cloverleaf in black with different alloys on it!

Bring on National Alfa - where I've been requested to take the 75!
