Spooky or what !
I'm just re-visiting this site for the very same reason !
My drivers side window packed in a while back, and I only got time to strip the door down this weekend.
I couldn't work out whether the motor and regulator is removed in one piece, or not. The steel cable which pulls / pushes the window is under a lot of tension. Anyway, after removing one end of the cable, I found it impossible to remove the other end.
I abandoned the job until I had a spare on hand to refit it with. Each side is unique, and you cant even swap a front offside regulator with a rear regulator as they are physically different. The only common part is the motor assembly which is the same in all 4 doors.
Anyone have any experience of replacing this part - as to be honest, it looks like a hell of a difficult job ? Any tips greatly appreciated.
From the noise my window was making, I'd also guess at stripped gears or teeth
Have a nice weekend folks
