Re: 166 central locking / temp gauge
Here goes for door panel removal (rear door anyway - proabbly similar for front door.
Undo 2 +head screw at bottom of door.
Flip out black panal behind door release very carefully with v small screw driver, remove +screw
Take out ashtry and undo alan head screw (long) - remove plastic cover from door release, disconnect treble speaker.
Prise out black pastic cap in middle of door - this is deeper than you would imagine so take care of trim. Undo +screw.
Prise out rubber mat at bottom of door pull recess to reveal two + screws (silver) remove screws and ease out pull/window switch, disconnect. Two silver star head screw bolts which can be removed with right size flat blade screwdriver.
Remove bass speaker cover, remove 4 screws to remove speaker. You will see two platic spacers the size of wine cork to front of door gently prise these away from door, two similar on rear of door, carefully puill awy then lift whole cover upwards to release 3 metal spring clips that fit over edge of metal door skin at window edge. Unclip courtesy light from base of door
Actuator is part of door lock mechanism so whol has to be replaced. remove two torx scres from inside panal neer door lock, this releases the window slide guide and removed, disconnect remote locking wire from lock (little palstic grommet) and release 3 torx screws from outside edge panel to release lock from door skin. Disconnect inside lever from lock via cable. The external handle actuator fits into little lever with hole on locking mechanism, just take care when you reassemble not to miss this!
Assembly reversal of disassembly, just get spring clips in right place before you give the plastic clips a bash back in to lock. Speaker grille/cover can be infuriating to refit as it only goes in one way!
