MAS conversion for 164 12V

Has anyone experimented with the idea of a mass air flow sensor conversion? I have a bmw magazine and they sell the conversion for the e30 (1984-90 3 series). Would that be a better approach than going the route of a unichip? Where can I get a unichip and can it by-pass the antique afm and still work with my future mods (turbo)? Which one would be better? The MAS conversion does come with air/fuel calibrator and timing control...

IF your AFM is broken, there's a good guide on how to recondition one here: İ1999 FR Wilk

Go to the link to AFM on the left.

I accept that there's less restriction with the newer "hot wire" types, but they tend not to last as long as the old "flap" types. Also, I don't know if you'd get any more power unless you changed other things in the system too.
