Re: malyasian 166 for sale
I've had my 159 for a good couple of weeks/ three weeks now and am enjoying it.
To compare to the 166, it's quite a different car really, so not sure how fair it is to compare, especially auto vs. manual.
I thought it was going to have Bose, but it didn't in the end. However, the basic sound system is the first major comparison. In fact, there isn't a comparison. The 159 sound is far far superior and that's with factory fit.
Also, my wife feels much more comfortable in it, especially in the corners. Far less histrionics!
It is - as has been widely reported on this forum - a heavy car with the Q4 system. I'm getting used to manual again, but it's a beast to get going from standing in first. The power then really kicks in once it's going and it definitely has great power and handling. I found myself cruising past many a car when the snow hit. I've stalled more times than I'd have liked and I think it's the difference between my old 147 GTA and the weight of this thing. Also think a better gear box could have been installed.
All the controls feel more intuitive and functional, especially the heating controls.
Which is a better looking car?
The 166 is definitely more beautiful and classic. The 159 looks meaner. I'll always adore the look of the 166.
But do I miss it?
Afraid not. Sorry all, but I think they could have really made an awesome car when they facelifted, but chose to go cosmetic and little else (tape deck!). Shame.
If a 169 ever comes out, I'll be in line!
