Thanks . . I'll bear that in mind . .
Dougie . . a quickie as they say . . I know you used to have a 166 3.0 . . can you tell me (if you can remember) when you switch the ignition on, is there any sort of noise that comes from the fuel pump . . . ?
Graham I remember one of our cars ,but I cannot recall which BUT you used to hear the pump going until it reahed the pressure it cut off at ..Dont think it was any of the 166's tho.
If it was a bravo then removing the pump is easier than eating a bowl of oatssosimple.
Three wee screws in the boot and you have access to the fuel pump.I dont even know where it is on a 166.
IIRC there is a point on the fuel manifold where you can easily get the pressure in the fuel rail. BUT I assume your expert would ken that.
I have no faith at all in EXPERTS.
1 case I had with a drunk driver was as simple as it should be ...But it got complex because of a defence lawyer...IF he had left it he would have won...BUT he called an EXPERT...The wee professor guy was brilliant...Comfused everybody even the sheriff had his wig on the back of his head...The PF procurator fiscal (Or as one woman who kent the Barlanark team referred to them as the Prostitution Fiscal...peed maesell at that one)...threw in the towel and as he was sitting down said "I dont suppose you could tell us what it would be for 2 pints of Guiness"..The wee expert programmed to tell the truth said ,Which we had said at the outset of the trial (IE 2 pints of Guiness), "That as that was the first amount I was asked to base my calculations upon".
The sheriff went raj.....Shouted at the defence lawyer "I suggest you have a word with your client OR YOU AND YOUR CLIENT WILL BE IN SERIOUS TROUBLE"....The defence lawyer had a quick word with his client and said "M'LORD,My client wishes to change his plea to GUILTY"
If the sheriff had made on example of this lawyer and his client then the criminal justice system would have been better for it.
So Experts IMHO...YYYYEEEOUGH>
Good luck with it Graham ...Mines I think was a bad earth on the gearbox of the Bravo....Time will tell...Mole wrench NO Borrowed Ratchet Crimper...YEA.
