I did the clutch in mine with my father-in-law who is a mechanic.
The easiest way to get the bolt out is to remove the expansion tank, thermostat and hoses. This gives you visual access to the bolt. I borrowed a customised spanner that had simply had the end bent to approx 30 degrees. This can then get on the bolt and, once cracked, should come off easy.
The clutch job in the 166 was much easier than doing the 164 Cloverleaf! Remember to grease the spline/shaft that goes into the gearbox for clutch operation as this will prevent any squeaking.
