169 Special Request pre assembly modification

While driving Pomeo today and wishing I had had the fan done when I glanced at that 166 subtle item the dashtop cubbie hole.
What a brilliant idea it would have been if this was removeable and gave acess to the blower motor and can be easily changed without having to degass the aircon and drain the cooling system and strip down half the car.
Changeable like the old Vauxhall Victor FD heater motor.

Simple and efficient.
So Alfa are you listening or is it all too late.

ps it will make it oats so simple in 10 years when I get my mits on 1.

Re: 169 Special Request pre assembly modification

To aid the depression I think we should spread some rumors of the reliability.

I heard the they need a complete engine rebuild at 10,000 miles!

The fastest way to depriciate them is spread rumours about depriciation.

Request for pre assembly modification should be for an extra dial next to the petrol gauge for a depreciation gauge. Watch how fast people would get rid of them.

Re: 169 Special Request pre assembly modification

somehow,I dont think the 169 will be a fast depreciator like the 166.
It will be better built and it will have a Ferrari/Maserati engine..
It shoul be more into BMW/Mercedes territory.............................

If 166 resale collapses in Oz when 169 comes out, I could mourn my financial loss, or I could take advantage of the situation and buy a few more

Every cloud has a silver lining and all that.

Re: 169 Special Request pre assembly modification

Sadly, it won't matter how good the 169 might be, nor what engine it has.....it's an Alfa, and the reputation is well and truly stuck.

...which is great for people like me who can't/won't buy a new car, but can benefit from shocking depreciation to enjoy a truly different motoring experience that would otherwise be impossible.

I thought my 155 was bad enough - I paid £8k for a 2 year old V6 that must have retailed for well over £20k. The 166? £30k+ car for peanuts.

...then again, my collegue has an IS250 and saw rather a lot of used ones on the dealer forecourt at the weekend. A £12k hit in the 1st year for a mid-spec car? Ouch.
