Re: ICS unit stopped working
I know what I'm about to say isn't going to help you right now, but you might be interested in my story.
My original post about the ICS unit failing, was back in August last year. I had never bothered trying to fix it, it just seemed like a mamoth task. And anyway, I thought that perhaps one day it might just start working again. Well, it had never worked during all this time, until about 10 days ago, when miraculously it flickered back to life, and, it has been working ever since! Only an Alfa could do this.
How it came back on? I don't know. My youngest daughter was with me at the time, and she said that she was looking at it, wondering, why the little screen thingy was still not working, and at that moment, the ICS lit up and music started to play from the radio (it was Radio 2 if you were wondering).
And so my little girl concluded that it must have been her magic thought waves or ESP, or something, that fixed it. Well, as far as I'm concerned, that's about as good a reason as any other that has been suggested by the so called experts that I've spoken to since that great day (evening, to be precise), so I'm sticking with my daughter's explanation.
Interestingly, during the ICS unit's coma, I was still able to fiddle about (albeit blindly) with the climate control buttons and alter the settings. But nothing else worked. i.e. The radio was dead.
You can actually get used to life without ICS; I went seven months without it. The question is, Denzil, do you reckon you can wait for the promise of that great day when ICS will (or, might never) return to life? Maybe you just gotta 'believe'.
I hope you liked my story, even if it was of no use to you at all, I hope it made you smile : )
Best of luck with the ICS unit. Hope you get it sorted sooner rather than later.
