Help Cv Boots

I need to change the off side outer CV boot. Is it easy?? Is the big nut on the axle a rt hand thread? It's very tight.
Does the shaft pull out once it is free of hub, brakes etc?
Help please

Re: Cv Boots

yeah use a split type boot - its a damn site easier and they work. Unless of course your CV joint is knackered too.

Re: Cv Boots

Never done the joint on a 166 but always used new proper boots on other cars.

To me a split boot is just a mickey mouse way of not doing the job properly.

It can't be that hard to take the joint off.
