Re: 3.0 sportronic 166 fuel consumption
Get an average of 24-ish on our short tedious trek to work. When I bought it, the ICS showed an average of 24.5 (IIRC) for the last 20k miles or so. Best I've seen so far is 28.3.
I've seen comments before about pattern Lambda probes...but I've not had any issues with them myself. Not wishing to cast any aspersions...but is the pattern part fitted right?? It'll have been grafted into the wiring from the old probe - simple enough job but I've seen some pretty 'special' attempts at this, and the probe got the blame for a crap wiring job.
An OEM 'Alfa' probe is a Bosch one in a nice red box - nothing special about it (unless you subscribe to the theory that Bosch put all their marginal parts in a special 'send it to Alfa' pile) so don't neccesarily buy from Alfa. Once fell for this on my 155. Alfa part, £150. Bosch part £80. Same part, same code.
