Out of interest, where did you get your loom? This job is on my to-do list, too...
Got it from a breakers that are sometimes on ebay.
Thanks to niallmoran for the '01 G2 disc, but that didn't do squat unfortunately. So did a bit more digging about, looking on the very good German Alfa Romeo Forum - Powered by alfisti.net, the Alfa Romeo Community
, just much harder to find stuff unless your fluent in German! (Thanks babel fish!). Anyways found this bit of info, There were several ICS generations, the first version the software V3.33, afterwards there was an update to V3.65 and finaly V3.75 - and there it ends! There the second ICS generation with V5.XX came first with the G2 Navi briefly then the G3. The Navi CD of 2001 (also Germany) still supported both systems, thus G2 and G3, and the update was V3.75 for the old ICS, as well as the V5.51 for the new ICS. With updates only the G3 the old ICS max. on V3.75 (if still another older version supports, becomes all following SW drauf is) and all new ICS on a newer 5.XX version updates! With the new ICS versions also there were 2 different variations - one shows the ICS and Navi code, the other one no, why and why, would gladly known!
Another difference between the ICS versions is that the first version is 8 bit and the second is 16 bit, apparently!
So there we have it, as mines an early version, v3.75 is as good as it gets, so may explain why my G3 sat nav has the odd problem running properly (can't change the voice from italian!). So in the process of trying to get hold of a V5.xx ICS, and see what happens. Will keep you posted on developments!
