Re: Lifting a 166
Show us a picture of your "tampon" and if its the same as the one I use I'll tell you how I do it.
I was going to buy a 3 legged one as it may be easier than the belt/tampon type.
To remove the alternator to gain better access is a brilliant idea ZStu but it is a bigger swine to get off rather than persevere with the tool.
How many threads have you got running just to chnage the oil.
PS Easy tip to raise car on non fitting car ramps.
Use original car jack to raise car to get bottle jack unde swinging arm.
Raise car by means of monoblock...or common brick if a cheapskate...and when high enough slip ramp under wheel
Thats my method until I have a go at making car ramps which slide ubder Fiat/Alfa and drive up. (Long term project )
Kent you would have difficulty with the filter as it is awkward.
Pomeo's comes off easy But the first time I did lacey it was a real pig...must put have been put on by the jolly green giant or a BIG Farmer.,...No offence PF.
Late news ...Elbarto saves another suicidal 166 owner with his excellent portfolio.
