Hmmm StRaNgE PrObLeM/fAuLt

I have a loverly 166 x reg has done 65,000 miles cam belt done 15,ago however a strange fault has started.

If i accelorate slowly then the rev's will go up to 6000 easily however if i put my foot to the floor it will start to accelorate hard and then 'cut' out, release yout foot of the throttle and it will be ok.

It's a bit like when you 'flood' a carb with too much fuel.

on the diagnostic machine it says the CO sensors are not right but when you look at them on the machine they look as they are working fine.

At standstill the engine will rev it's bolloards off it's

Any ideas folks.....cheers geoff

Re: StRaNgE PrObLeM/fAuLt

For what its worth I Agree,
Sounds like the MAF sensor..... Light acceleration puts little load on the engine... heavy accelleration opens the butterfly valve and if the Maf isnt working properly it will over or under fuel...
Do you have any issues with an unsteady tickover or stalling at lights?

I thought it was a problem with a sticking caps lock button when I first read this.
