my view would be that as you have spent on the car already, you may as well enjoy it for a bit. If you buy another cheaper car, you may end up paying for another cambelt, another exhaust, another MAF etc etc, get rid before it needs new tyres or something like that, until then enjoy. Better the devil and all that.
I have the option of taking my daughters Bravo to work, nippy economical and quite fun to drive when it works, how many times have I done that? twice, just cannot bear to walk past the 166 and get in the Bravo.
I suspect you will be the same with the Puma.
Storing the car will not be good for 2 years, the tyres will mis shape, cam belt deteriorate etc etc plus the hazardous rodents you mention.
the mrs should not drive your car anyway, but you can drive hers, it's the rules.
so keep it.
