Re: Yet another cheap f/l.
Yes sure thing, but I've noticed that the twinnie cambelt and variator
can be done for a good price nowadays compared to the V6,tensioners
idlers, waterpump, your'e looking at getting on for £800,whereas
t/spark with variator £325ish.
BTW been running the t/s TI for 6 mths. now,am returning over 27 mpg overall,I much prefer it to the bigger engined cars, only slight
criticism of this one ,it uses oil, about a litre per 1000mls., which I
know is o.k,but my last three 166s' never used any.
I am sorry I bought mine last year before the current glut of f/ls,
course whats' happening as someone else remarked, most of these
are one owner cars that are being traded for something new or
Antway certainly a good time to buy given the lowish producion numbers.
When you think about it those malaysian 166s' seemed a good buy
at the time and I am sure they are for a new car but look what you
can pick up a low miles 3.0 f/l for now, nice as the new ones are,
they are going to takea hell of a hit depreciation wise, not uk
models, not covered by Alfa warranty, discontinued model.
I think this is definately a case where you would have been better
buying 2nd. hand, because these f/ls are not commanding the
premiums they were 6 mths. ago, even the holy grail ,the 3.2
is readily available.
