Re: Colour Keying Alloys
I used Hycote acrylic spray paint, dries extremely quickly ,great
finish and compatible with cellulose or acrylic, used their aluminium
colour, the silver is just too silvery.
Removed wheels sanded and filled any imperfections, gave one coat grey primer then flatted down with fine wet and dry ,primed them
again ,flatted down again, two coats of aluminium, then a coat of clear lacquer, good idea to clean and paint calipers whilst wheels are off,
to save paint adhering to tyres coat them in wahing up liquid, any overspray can be wiped off with cellulose thinners 5ltr can very
cheap from motor factors, nice finishing touch a coating of
tyre black and I got some nice quality chrome valve caps ,just to put the
icing on the cake,if you get a nice dry day you will be amazed
what a good result you can get for a little money, and a fair bit of time and effort!
