Re: 166s' on Autotrader.
Characterful cars, certainly hard to define,I tell you the most
characterful cars I have owned were a Lancia Fulvia saloon.and a
couple of mk.2 3.8 jags ,mind you they used to fall apart whilst
you were driving them, always liked the old bmw 6 series as well
but total rust buckets!
I used to drive saab 9000 turbos before I got into Alfas, whilst
owning saabs,I was very tempted to buy a 164,I found it very
quiet and refined with great build quality and loads of equipment.
Anyway when it was time to replace my last Saab 9000(a 98 model
so one of the last),the only thing to replace it was a Saab 95,
unreliable,stodgy,and full of gm input.
Found a low miles(15k) 166 and I am on my 4th.166 now.
I dont' do a big mileage so for me the car is not a neccesity for
commuting(as I use a van for work),so I suppose I can be a little
eccentric in my choice of cars,so for me the 166 fits the bill perfectly
stylish, certainly different and a pretty good drivers' car.
BTW nearly bought a BMW m5 instead of my current TI,lot of
car for £13k!,but somehow couldn't defect to the dark side!
