ICS parts

Does anybody know if you can buy parts for an ICS. I've taken mine to bits and I need to replace the incandescant tube that goes around the display. There is no part number on it only on the whole display which is a sharp LQ5AW126. Does anyone know if I can buy the tube seperately or need to whole display?

Re: ICS parts

I doubt if you can get it from Alfa but I would think an electronis company may be able to help. R.S. perhaps or even Maplins. Worth trawling the net.

Re: ICS parts

You will be very lucky to find one. I had the same problem and eventually just ended up buying a second hand ICS unit from a breakers yard. Cost me 120 GBP. The problem is the U shape of the tube and the fact that the Sharp screen is obsolete. I tried the usual LCD tubes but had no luck with them.
Have a look for anyone breaking a 166 and get the whole unit. If no code comes with it then check this thread for getting one.

Try these guys for an ICS. The last time I bought a part from them they had a couple of second hand ICS's.

Re: ICS parts

I am getting a replacement ICS system from Marco. I wanted to repair the old one though as I hate chucking things in the bin.
As you say Sipe the tube is a very strange shape and must be special to that screen it also has no part number on it.
For general info what I have found out is that the screen is a sharp LQ5AW126, as you say this is now obsolete but apparently (don't hold me to this) has been superseded by the sharp LQ5AW136 I've checked the data sheets and they seem both the same.
This screen is also fitted to the omega and vectra apparently (if sat nav fitted) and used in a few marine applications.
The problem is that the screen is £150 so if the whole ICS is only worth around that repaired then it may not be worth doing it.

Anyway hope the info may help someone else
