Drove back to day from Kent in my new (well 2002 with 85k) 166 TSpark in silver with grey leather and Alfa FSH.
I'm not convinced its actually a Lusso as it is missing Xenons (not upset)and rain sensor wipers but has the elec memory heated seats and leather so who knows. Its an ex demonstrator with one prevous owner - a man of the cloth
so maybe I'll have some divine intervention to keep her running sweetly.
Handed the rest of the money over, got all the books. ICS codes etc and hey presto here I am now a fully fledged 166 owner.
Very impressed so far despite a few obvious niggles - bet you can't guess what they are?
1.Dash top compartment - yes it sticks but thanks to you guys I know the fix. Off to get some rubber O rings tomorrow.
2. Rear nearside electric window not working. Will check switches/earths etc.
3. Dash bulbs. Thought I'd tackle this on the way home so took my hex keys with me. 4-5 bulbs out so following the directions in previous threads (plus Pomeo) it worked out a treat and I got them all done at Watford Gap services in about 25mins. Didn't disconnect battery, squeezed the module out and hey presto with ignition still off replaced bulbs and chucked it back in. Success and very satisfying.
That's it so far in what 12 hours of ownership. My left indicator does actually self cancel itself as of close of play but hey who knows about tomorrow.
The drive home was fantastic - very comfortable, smooth and quiet. Love the interior. Saw lots of A4s / 3 series 4x4 cr*p (yawn) etc but not one 166. Different if I was up in Scotland of course
Haven't found the cd cable yet - I managed today with a cassette adaptor and my PDA loaded with WMA files. Sounded very good though but will be loudlinking at some point. Probably after the frist service gives me a good dose of reality (hoepfully it wont though as the car seems welllooked after)
Anyway just felt like sharing my joy and will try and post a couple of pics with my GTV for company in due course
Thanks for all the info everyone it has been invaluable yet again.
