Info req'd re: 164 12valve + fitting 6 spd box

Does anyone have any info: on fitting a 6 speed box to a 164 12 valve Cloverleaf, Dex knows that someone not too far away (Midlands) has done the mod, but he can't remember who it is.
Any info: would be appreciated.

Re: Info req'd re: 164 12valve + fitting 6 spd box

met a fellow who fitted one to his 24v leaf.

had to taughten up the tilt on the engine by 1 or 2 degrees on the adjustable top engine mount - but could have been to compensate for other worn mounts.

its a cable linkage, so gear change box from 166 or 156 6-speed, make sure the box comes with cable attachments.

This chap used a garage up north to do it, the garage races a GTV 3.0 in some sort of alfa race thingy if that helps - who have to run toyo proxies 888 tyres!
Could be worth a bit of research to find them out.

BTW, did you know the 12v leaf has interale 2nd and 3rd gear ratios, making them quite good to a ton?
