Re: 05 FL 3.0 13k miles - £8800
Yes plenty of improvements on F/L.
I have had 3 previous 166s'.
Had a very low mileage 5spd. t/s,very basic, quite noisy and not that
refined,but 100% reliable.
Moved on to a high mileage 2002 m/year2.5,totally different car 6spd,
quick .econimical and so many improvements, got rid because of
impending repair bills, then a very low mileage super, very much the same but more power, bit of a handful on the country lanes around
here,so when the opportunity came traded it for f/l ts ti.
The first thing when you drive the f/l is the refinement, engine noise is
very subdued, interior finish is much improved.
Everything works, the indicators cancell ,glove box lid opens, clutch
pedal doesnt' squeak, even little touches like you have to unlock the
doors to get in the boot so cannot accidentally lock keys in.
Self levelling zenons excellent, firm well damped suspension, turns into
corners really well, with little roll, the harsh jiggly ride has disappeared
as well as that dive under braking.
The t/s gets cruise control, full time asr with vdc ,instead of the poor tcs system of the previous 2 litre car.To sum up all the irritating faults of the previous model have been
ironed out,the only criticism of the f/l is that alfa really pared down
the specs. for the U.K and everything is an optional extra, even
the rear sunblind!
Buy one you wont' regret it,I havent heard any criticism of the f/ls,
truly a great drivers' car with the bonus of being very rare.
