80 sounds Ok, although 90 maybe better - Are you having any specific problems to cause query, MPG?
I replaced a thermostat on my 164 3.0 12v years back - Was easy with no issues. Never done one on a 24v - Is it different? To be honest I would leave alone unless you have a specific issue.
No specific problems, Dougie, other than it seems a tad low. I've not really done enough miles to get a clear idea of mpg, although my daily drive is a V8, so I'm probably not the right person to ask
It had a fresh MoT when I bought it, so I guess it passed its emissions OK.
Deviating slightly, it seems to have been a bit of a find. Although the lacquer on the bonnet and bootlid is pretty bad, everything else works, including the LCD display, and that's after it had been standing for a number of years. The only exception was the heater fan but that was just the 40A fuse behind the false firewall.
Although the engine was rebuilt in 2000, and it's been run very little since then, I'm going to get the belts done for my own peace of mind. As part of the service history, I inherited the invoice for the engine rebuild after the cambelts snapped in 2000 - ouch!
PS: Is that a picture of your engine bay in your sig? I aspire to an engine bay like that
