Re: Alfa 166 3.0 Sportonic - red coolant light?
Yes - well in (dry) daylight it was apparent that the coolant was low. I've topped her up and driven to the local garage to purchase some anti-freeze. The level had dropped by the time I returned home (about 5 miles) but hopefully that was just 'taking up the slack'. I can't see any signs of leaks anywhere. Anyway, I've now topped her up again with the AF and hopefully no serious harm has been done.
Just for anybody "passing by" - I've had my Bella for 4.5 years now (from new), covered 48K miles in that time and this is the first problem we've had. Although I check oil very regularly - I can't remember eye-balling the coolant for a while - something I shall do at the same time as the oil and brake/steering fluids in future!
I am very fond of my Red Lady and normally take very good care of her. Perhaps she was just reminding me not to take her too much for granted!
Thank you for your advice - I would have checked everything today anyway - but it was kind of reassuring last night. Regards, IanT
