Noticed recently starting a little sluggish and temp gauge reading over 100!!!
checked on the laptop and temp ok slow-speed fan cutting in correctly and temp steady at 90.
not sure if the symptoms are linked.
Where is the sender for engine temp on a 3.2.
Excuse my English ... Check the cable which grounds electrics .You could see it inside by left side tire ...Check for corrosion where it is connected ...Unscrew and use sand paper to clean...İt helped me....
Water pump changed about three years ago. The temp shown on the fiat ecu scan is bang on and the engine don't feel overly hot so I am happy it's only the gauge ready wrong
The gauge sender is a separate sensor element to the ECU water temp sensor, although in the same physical device. Also, the overheat indication when the gauge goes full scale is also driven by the ECU, so other than an irritation, you can probably ignore the gauge issue if you like.
Quick dash swap should help track it down for sure. I got pretty slick at doing that when I was chasing the airbag indicator fault on mine. Not a great claim to fame though :weeping:
More good info here. Did you ever crack it JT?
I am leaning towards the earth issue.
Although IIRC this dodgy earth triggered VDC light etc
Did someone else not have a similar issue recently
You are on the right track Check the earth cable ends and clean the ends where it connects...Use heavy grease to protect it from further rusting or dirt....I solved mine this way...Best wishes..
