No undertray on mine either - I decided not to bother.
Mine does not leak any oil - I did have a slight drip which turned out to be power steering fluid, quick tighten up of rear clip on the reservoir sorted that (probably left a bit loose after belt change). I would not have noted that with an udertray on as I would have not found the drip! I power wash mine regularly which helps keep away salt and grit.
Depends on yourself and the conditions you drive in - Do you think it is necessary. If you negotiate a lot of bad roads and speed bums then probably yes - A good early warning system, better a scraped undertray than a cracked sump! I cracked the sump on my mk1 164 - Expensive and time consuming fix!
