Brand new 166 Sportronic

Hi
Have just bought a 'new' 166 3.0 Sportronic. It's been sitting for nearly 2 years waiting to be sold. What should I have done to it in addition to a full PDI before I drive it away? Presumably oil, filter, wipers etc etc, but is there anything I should be aware of/insist is done?
Great car!

Congratulations, slackhammond! Perhaps a new battery is worth requesting? Not sure how quickly the various belts perish if the car is sitting unused. Probably depends on whether it has been inside or outside during that time. I would also wonder about the air con system, as it's supposed to be run regularly...

Presumably, it is a FL model? Fully loaded? Was it pre-registered or not? If not, you'll find it's now in the new gas-guzzler tax bracket of £300/year ('only' £205 if it's registered before March 2006).

Nice Xmas present :xmas:. Enjoy...

Everybody stay calm. Don't panic. It's just the end of the world. It'll be all right, as long as we all keep chanting.

Re: Brand new 166 Sportronic

Congratulations - I have been thinking on one of these so would be interested in your experience.

I would want oil and filter changed and a good check over rubber components - I imagine this will be done anyway. I asked Veloces about belts - They said cars were around 18 months old from build and not due belt until 5 years, therefore not a problem. All should be Okj but if you still own in 3 years be sure to change belt regardless of mileage.

Did you buy from Veloces, Monza Sport or Parks? I understand that a PDI and warranty are supplied anyway so should be Ok. I think they are all being registered as "57" plate so will be big tax but included in initial OTR price.

Enjoy!

It has to be Italian! Fiat, Lancia & Alfa all my days.
