Injection System Malfunction light on

The above warning light has come on on my twinnie 166 in the hand book it just says the usual refer to alfa dealer,has anyone else had this problem and if so what is the problem or do I have to take the car to a garage to get it sorted ?

could be lots of things.... does the car run okay?

if so, try an ecu reset...

mine kept going into limp-home mode... the rac came out today and having returned no faults on the diagnostics kit, sourced the issue to the throttle potentiometer.

do a search on here... the general conclusion is that it's alfa... what do you expect!?!

what year is the car? If it's an orange light that's come on and the car is still driving okay it's a fair chance the MAF is gone...you can get a code reader for about 20 quid to read and clear the codes, although if the car is older (pre 2001ish) you'll need alfadiag or similar....

with all due respect, the it's an alfa what do you expect line is a poor one.

This car has a fault, find the fault and fix it. Most of the electrics are German anyway and most of the faults such as the MAF which is a likely one afflict other makes too.

If the car is post 2001 it will be easier because as Niall says the code readers from ebay for 20 quid will do the trick. Read the code and tell us what you find.

A solution which doesn't cost the earth is at hand. Persevere and you will find it.

Its a 2001 Ts model the light just stays on all the time tho ive not noticed any drop in performance

is it a red injector light or orange engine light?

do a search for 220172056505

Buy one of these readers and let us know the code that you read from the diagnostic port on the car which is just below the steering wheel

. This is a very simple non technical thing to do and will help a huge amount.

ergo the cheap code reader that I suggest is the one.
