166 door lock torx bolts

Does anyone know where I can find a couple of door lock bolts for the 166? They are black and roughly size 32 torx and a couple of centimetres long. There are two missing on my passenger door. Does anyone know the correct size?

Thx in advance for any assistance

T 25 head screws are M5, T 30 are M6.

There is no valid reason on earth why normal metric screws couldn't be used in place of the torx for this (or any other job on the car)

I suggest you go to the local hardware shop, or if you prefer a motor factors and buy a few M5x20mm and a few M6x20mm with a normal allen head or even a socket head.

Bob's your uncle.

Thanks Richard. Even better. Let's hope this fixes the door not sealing properly.

My biggest torx in the toolkit is T30 and it's bigger than that. Must be T32 or T35.

They are probably Ribe, not Torx.

Confirmed. Yes, it is a Ribe. So now it's less than £3 for a pack of 10 bolts direct from the Alfa dealer but £15 + for a Ribe bit set unless I can identify the exact bolt size. If anyone has a Ribe bit set could they kindly check which bit fits on their 166 door bolts?

I tried to say this already. It's not the head that is important if the bolts are missing.

Just buy some M5 and M6 bolts. See which fits.

tighten them with a spanner or an allen key (depending on what you bought)

This is a very easy thing to do. Please try my simple suggestion

I thank you kindly for your simple suggestion Richard.

Sourcing the short bolts is more difficult than getting a pack sent in the post from Alfa for 3 quid. Plus they are powder coated black to match the door frame so look better. And in order to deal with my door I may well to have to fiddle with the others to see why the one with 2 bolts missing is not sealing shut as tight as it should. So I'd need the Ribe bit; if I knew what size to get I could get that posted, too. Job done, all posted, no need to traipse around hardware or automotive stores

Re: 166 door lock torx bolts

ahhh - well you could get a cheapy torx bit set for way cheaper than the ribe set i'm sure...many of those cheapy multi head screwdriver things come with torx bits and they can be used with a socket set with the right adaptor (or a 1/4" socket!)
