Heater Problem ??

The heater in my 166 twinnie only seems to get luke warm at best which is not too clever seeing as we are now getting ice outside, does anyone have any ideas as to what the problem could be ? ive got at set at high so it should be nice and hot.
Cheers all

Re: Heater Problem ??

what's the engine temp saying? If it's staying low your stat is knackered....if it's normal then i guess there's a blockage or something in the heating circuit or maybe a sticky valve?

Re: Heater Problem ??

The temp gauge dosent move alot unless you are in traffic then it goes to half way (normal) but when you are driving down the road it moves to about a quarter.

sounds like your thermostat has stuck open, so it takes for ever to heat up as it has to heat the whole system instead of a much smaller portion of it that includes the heater. Fairly easy DIY job.
