boot lid badge.

Just got my TI back from the bodyshop today after having a few
battle scars(collected in supermarket car parks no doubt),attended
to,I have to say she now looks absolutely superb, also had a boot lid
spoiler fitted and painted, obtained from Fly Design,a German Ebayer
which Tony Rome kindly put me in touch with.(its' a nice subtle spoiler
and suits the 166 really well, about £45 so a good deal!)
As soon as I get time I will definately get some pics. posted,
Anyway I have bought a new boot lid badge off Ebay, can anyone tell
what is entailed in fitting it ?

Re: boot lid badge.

Hi Viv

Here's a couple of previous links - hope these help
http://www.alfaowner.com/Forum/alfa-...-changing.html (166 Boot Badge Changing.)

http://www.alfaowner.com/Forum/alfa-...oot-badge.html (166 Boot Badge.)

http://www.alfaowner.com/Forum/alfa-...oot-badge.html (166 Boot Badge)

Please post pictures of the spoiler on your Ti - very interested to see what it looks like - is this the adhesive strip backed one? - what was the painting costs?

Re: boot lid badge.

yes thanks for those links, yes the spoiler is the adhesive backed
one,I will post pics. when I eventually work out how to upload them
to the site,as for painting costs can't be specific as had some other
paintwork rectification.
If you need some pics. have a look on Ebay for fly design,he has an
Ebay shop on there.

Re: boot lid badge.

Viv, so was that just the badge or is it the badge and the black plastic bit behind? Which (if any) of the previous messages helped? My badge is looking a bit little tired so I may follow your lead.

Re: boot lid badge.

It came with the black plastic surround that covers the lock
mechanism, its' held on with a circlip over a spring and plastic washer,
simply removed it prised the old one off the car, pushed into the hole,
and with the help of some long nose pliers and a very fine screwdiver
reassambled it.
You can get the badge assembly off ebay for a very reasonable cost,
if you have a look there is one on there now for a starting bid of £9.99
Mine was £16.00 ,£1.00 p&p,have seen them go for as little as £11.00.
pretty expensive from the main dealers!
