Crazed Creaking clutch -please help!

I have a problem that i tried to search on the forum but couldn't find anything.
The winter is coming and the temperatures outside droped near zero so this is what happened: When the cabin is still cold everything is OK, but when it gets warm thu clutch pedal starts creaking when pushing to change gear - it creaks only if i push it and not on realease.
Tried to sprey some new grease stuf (i know it's a good sprey cause i tried it on my creaking door at home and it helped) and no effect at all.
I sprayed every thing "down under" but seems that i didnt get to the problem.
Anyone had simillar problem - it is creaking deffinetly around pedal somewhere!
Sorry for my bad english - please help it is eating me alive!

Re: Creaking clutch -please help!

may be different on a LHD but take off the black felt cover that lives under the dash and find the master cylinder, where the master meets the pedal pivot there is a pin. That is your enemy, its gold coloured IIRC and has a spring clip on the end, get a direct hit on that with some white grease and it should shut up for good (well 4 months since doing mine and not heard a thing).

Good luck.

Re: Creaking clutch -please help!

I have a LHD. And i took off the black cover and a think i was spraying the thing you are talking about - can you maybe post a picture of the cylinder so i know exactly what i am looking for?
Will try a different grease - maybe the problem is in it.

Re: Creaking clutch -please help!

I have had difficulty in posting pics on here. On the RHD car the cylinder is silver and has two pipes attached. At the opposite end to the pipes there should be an attachment to the pedal whereby the pushrod foums a Y shape around the pedal arm, a pin with a spring clip secures it. This is the part that often squeaks.

If you PM me your e-mail address I can send you a pic on Thursday morning if that helps.

Re: Creaking clutch -please help!

numanme, there is an issue with RHD cars cracking the metal to the pedal assembly, basically because the metal is not man enough for the job, may also be that, there have been a couple of posts about it, otherwise its just a matter of getting under the dash by removing the black panel, finding the pin that connects pedal to master cylinder, lock onto target and squirt

HTH

Re: Creaking clutch -please help!

As mentioned, they had probs in this area, there was a callback on some cars where the cross shaft came adrift and slid sideways...
