Re: 166 sat nav system

Dated, slow, fairly hard to put in,plus different systems not compatible
with ics according to model year.
You could nearly buy a good after market system for the price of
the latest navteq disc!
Not worth the bother IMO.

Re: 166 sat nav system

yeah, it is a pain to retrofit but do-able if you can get hold of the reader and the loom...however it is cool to have it built in and have the NAV button do something

Have a look for previous threads on satnav - loads of info there...

Re: 166 sat nav system

Yes you're the man niall.as you know I admire your perseverance in
fitting the nav. and dsp.
Personally I am not bothered about the nav, have had a tom tom since
they first came out, have upgraded the software ,still a brilliant bit of
kit,BUT I would really like the dsp!
Everyone on here says how brilliant the sound is,and I like the TI
so much I would willingly go through the aggro. of finding it and fitting
it,I see from anothe?r post on here it is much easier on the later cars?

Re: 166 sat nav system

yeah, the DSP is a much better upgrade that the satnav, it was just it was all or nothing with mine as the loom was all together....

Re: 166 sat nav system

Ah! There are others out there doing these frustrating things!! I agree with the comments DSP brilliant but my sat nav won't run! Please see my plea under 'Sat Nav Freezing' . Forgive me if this is an intrusion but I'm new here!
