54 plate 3.2 facelift
I know quite a few on here are looking for a 3.2,here is one:
Lusso ,quite a basic spec,17" alloys,no parking sensors,no steering wheel controls dsp etc. but 27k. miles ,54plate but for the mileage
a very keen price, when you consider what veloces and black and white were charging £12495,its' at a dealer called Preferenza on
Autotrader, best move quick if you really want one,you know how
rare these are!!

Re: 54 plate 3.2 facelift
I think the main attraction of this car it is the ultra rare 3.2.
Have you noticed that these late cars are not fully loaded like the
earlier 3.0 v6s' in super lusso and sportronic form,ie no sat.nav
or even the rear blind!
Nice car but very basic spec. if you look at in detail,on the facelifts
nearly everything is an optional extra, must have been a cost cutting
exercise to keep the UK list price down, australian spec. have every
extra including the TI pack inclusive, however the list price over there
was stratospheric!!

Re: 54 plate 3.2 facelift
Lovely car - same colour as mine. Yes they did seem to strip the options back - the only goodies mine has are heated seats and CD Changer. No sat nav or rear blinds....

Re: 54 plate 3.2 facelift
I'd prefer it without all the weight gaining additions to be honest. If I had that much money to spend on a car, I'd have it if it had wind down windows!

Re: 54 plate 3.2 facelift
I got a call from Veloces yesterday - They were calling to let me know that they had just got a 3.2 in and thought I may be interested.
Surprise Surprise - 54 plate in San Marco grey with black leather, basic lusso spec with no sat nav and around 25k on the clock - £15k. I explained that there was another garage with the same spec and 27k miles for £12.5k - They said that was cheap. I bet they paid less than that for it!!!
Still on Lombarda site - Maybe there are more than I thought - http://www.alfaromeolombarda.co.uk/p...160&p_i=453160
Is tempting but seems over priced when I can get my pick of a new 166 for £16.5k although 3.0 and auto. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

It has to be Italian! Fiat, Lancia & Alfa all my days.
My Alfas - 164 3.0 12v - 156 1.8 SP1 - 164 3.0 24v - 156 SW 1.8 SP3 - 166 Super - 166 3.2 Ti - Brera SV JTDM

Re: 54 plate 3.2 facelift
Veloces adding an extra few grand for the same car? No! . As you say, Dougie, even at £12.5K, it's not really a bargain because of the specification. At £15K, it's well overpriced. But cheaper than their previous 3.2 at £20K...

Re: 54 plate 3.2 facelift
Facelifts are great cars, but really pared the spec. down for uk market.
look whats extra on the lusso, sat.nav ,parking sensors, rear blind,
sat.nav,steering wheel controls etc.etc,
I have as you know got a TI but even that at £2k. extra has got loads of options missing, pretty penny pinching by Alfa.
Have a look at the Australian spec. they have the lot even ,TI at no extra cost.
Veloces ,usual story, but they always find punters for their cars!

Re: 54 plate 3.2 facelift
The sportronics that were destined for Malaysia are well loaded, even including parking sensors - They are very tempting! 57 plate and 3 year warranty!

You're right, Niall. Anything registered after March 2006 and with a CO2 of more than 225g/kg - the 3 litre Sportronic FL has a CO2 level of 310! - means £300 per year tax. That's quite a premium over my '99 Super, which 'only' costs £180! Also, as time goes by, the CO2 regulations are likely to get much tougher and the cost of anything over 200g/kg is going to be very high...
For those interested, a calculator of vehicle CO2 emission levels can be found here:

Re: 54 plate 3.2 facelift
Newer is not necessarily better, Dougie . The system for pre-2001 cars is based on engine size and is not related to CO2 levels. Could be worse for you; if your car was a 2006 registration, you'd have to pay £300!
If you really want something to complain about, think about the old V8s and V12s from the 1960s and early 1970s, which have truly horrendous CO2 emissions, yet pay zero tax! That's a £300 a year saving and it will only increase over time. Then you have the ridiculous 'zero emissions' tag given to electric vehicles... .
The system in place now is 'fair', at least if you are convinced about the damaged caused by CO2 (there's still actually a lot of scientific evidence lacking but you're not supposed to mention that, of course ). Maybe if the politicians who are telling us to cut down the emissions didn't get chauffeured around in huge limos, I would be a little less cynical.

Everybody stay calm. Don't panic. It's just the end of the world. It'll be all right, as long as we all keep chanting.
