lights not working apart from headlights&indicators&brakelights

Hi,
unusual fault occured on my 166. No lights on rear or front sides or fog lights front or rear.
Does anyone have any ideas????

The car has just had a head job complete with new belts and tensiors at 61k. There is evidence to suggest a new box was fitted before I got the car too (sportstronic)

I am also selling the car soon once back from body shop I will have the ultimate 2.5 v6 for sale with a new lease of life all for next owner.

Due to having billls exceedind £1800 on the car, I wont sell for less than £2995 to any member here that wants a fully sorted 166 with sportronic
It will be mint and to the rest of the world marketed out at £3250, so let me know soon!

PS the back windows have been lower tinited than the rest of the car and so it looks awesome and could be used for quality hire or wedding work as a result.

Black leather interior of course too! CD auto changer and premium stereo fitted.

sounds like a relay or fuse problem....probably one of the jumbo ones under the bonnet.

Found cause, the cruise control stalk was in need of replacing and in sorting that it also fixed blown lights, replaced 3 bulbs and problem sorted now for 2 months ok

Re: lights not working apart from headlights&indicators&brakelights

What a coincidence - I got exactly the same fault yesterday - only noticed it after getting flashed at on the way home from work. I had a look today, and have found by trial and error that switching on the rear fog lights when the headlights are on turns the all the sidelights back on except those on the boot lid (but not the fog lights strangely). In my case, none of the lights on the bootlid work either (reversing lights, foglights and sidelights). I have a suspicion this is down to faulty wiring in the bootlid which is somehow affecting the lighting circuit - plan to have a look at the weekend. If you have found a cure, would love to know what it was.

The boot lid light problem comes up now and then. Check the wires in the rubber as they pass from the car into the bootlid. The constand opening and shutting damages the cables.
